Because I know they say that Travelpro is used by airline employees when they fly I thought I would give them a try after my Samsonite died on me after 12 years of great service. Well..... I miss Samsonite.
I took this luggage on its maiden trip and at the end of the trip as I was wheeling my bag out of my hotel towards my cab, one of the wheels broke and fell off. I called Travelpro and was met with horrible customer service and had to take my broken luggage to an authorized Travelpro repair shop (which was no where near my home or work). The shop said it would take 4-5 days to fix as they needed to get the part from Travelpro. Well it turned out to be 14 days and I barely got my luggage back before my two week trip to Europe. I heard every excuse as to why they couldn't ship a simple wheel replacement to my repair shop in a reasonable amount of time:
1. We are doing inventory this week - no repair parts ship this week
2. It's on backorder
3. Oh it did ship - we weren't doing inventory - your repair shop must be lying to you.
Since it was repaired and I have used it a few more times, it seems to be holding up just fine. The luggage looks great and I hope it holds strong for 7-10 more years. But as a company Travelpro is not helpful at all and I will definitely go back to Samsonite for my next luggage. They are just more durable and have much better customer care.
